Author Declaration and Post-Publication Policy
1. Scope and Purpose
This policy governs all manuscript submissions to Advent Publishing. By submitting a manuscript, all authors agree to be legally bound by the terms set forth herein. This policy is designed to uphold academic integrity, clarify author responsibilities, and establish clear post-publication procedures in the event of ethical breaches.
2. Author Warranties
By submitting a manuscript, the Corresponding Author warrants and represents on behalf of all named co-authors that:
- Originality: The manuscript is entirely original and contains no plagiarised text, data, or ideas.
- Prior Publication: The manuscript has not been previously published in any form (whether in print, online, or in another language), in whole or in substantial part.
- Exclusivity: The manuscript is not currently under consideration for publication by any other journal, press, anthology, or publisher.
- Third-Party Permissions: All necessary written permissions have been obtained for any third-party content included in the work (including, but not limited to, images, figures, tables, datasets, and lengthy quotations), in full compliance with Advent Publishing’s Rights and Licences Policy.
- Authorship: The final manuscript has been read and approved by every listed author. All individuals who qualify for authorship are included, and no eligible persons have been omitted. The order in which authors are listed has been mutually agreed upon and approved by all co-authors.
3. Duties of the Corresponding Author
The Corresponding Author serves as the sole and exclusive point of contact for Advent Publishing throughout the editorial and production process. Responsibilities include:
- Communicating all editorial decisions, reviewer comments, and production updates to all co-authors in a timely manner.
- Submitting all revisions, responses to reviewers, and required materials on behalf of all authors.
- Obtaining final approval from all co-authors for page proofs, colour charges, reprint orders, and any other post-acceptance materials.
- Ensuring that all co-authors are fully informed of and agree to the terms of this policy prior to submission.
4. Disclaimer of Originality Verification
Advent Publishing does not conduct independent plagiarism, similarity, or originality checks on any submitted manuscript.
The publisher does not employ automated screening tools (such as iThenticate or Crossref Similarity Check) nor manual forensic review for textual overlap prior to acceptance or publication. The full, exclusive, and irrevocable responsibility for verifying the originality, academic integrity, proper attribution, and legal compliance of all content rests solely with the submitting authors. Submission of a manuscript constitutes explicit acknowledgment and acceptance of this disclaimer.
5. Post-Publication Sanctions and Retraction Policy
If, at any time after publication (whether days, months, or years later), Advent Publishing determines, in its sole and reasonable discretion, that the published work contains any of the following:
- Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism, text recycling, or unattributed borrowing);
- Redundant or duplicate publication;
- Fabricated or falsified data;
- Unauthorised use of third-party content; or
- Any other breach of academic or publication ethics;
Advent Publishing reserves the unconditional, unilateral right to immediately:
- Retract and remove the manuscript from its website, digital platforms, databases, and/or any associated printed books or anthologies; and
- Permanently withdraw all digital object identifiers (DOIs) and metadata associated with the work.
Such retraction and removal shall be executed without prior notice, consultation, or approval from the authors. Advent Publishing shall not be obliged to provide the authors with an explanation, although a standard retraction notice may be posted at the publisher’s discretion.
6. Forfeiture of Fees
In the event of retraction or removal under Section 5 above, all publication fees, article-processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or any other costs paid to Advent Publishing in connection with the manuscript shall be irrevocably forfeited.
Under no circumstances will any portion of such fees be returned, reimbursed, refunded, or credited toward future submissions. This provision applies regardless of whether the alleged misconduct was intentional, negligent, or inadvertent, and regardless of when the violation is discovered.
7. Acceptance and Binding Effect
By submitting a manuscript, the Corresponding Author formally accepts all of the above terms on their own behalf and on behalf of every co-author. The Corresponding Author further confirms that they have shared this entire policy with all listed authors prior to submission, and that all co-authors have consented to be bound by it.
Advent Publishing reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of submission shall govern that specific manuscript.
