Frequently Asked Questions

If I want to edit a book with Advent Publishing, what are the steps I need to follow?

If you wish to edit a book with Advent Publishing, the first step is to submit a proposal. This proposal initiates the review process by Advent Publishing team. Upon approval, we will collaborate closely with you to finalize the publishing plan, invite chapter submissions, and proceed through the editorial and production stages to publication. Detailed guidance and support will be provided throughout to ensure a smooth and successful publishing experience.

What is the subsequent procedure following the submission of an edited book proposal to Advent Publishing?

Upon submission of the edited book proposal to Advent Publishing, the proposal undergoes an initial review by our editorial team to assess its suitability and alignment with our publishing objectives. This review typically includes an evaluation of the book's scope, intended audience, and potential contribution to the field.

Once the proposal is preliminarily approved, a dedicated webpage for the book is created to enhance its visibility and to facilitate outreach to potential chapter contributors. This page serves as a central hub for promoting the book, sharing updates, and offering key details. Subsequently, a formal call for chapters is issued through multiple channels, including email and social media, as well as through the editor’s network.

Contributed manuscripts are then subjected to a rigorously managed assessment process, which includes checks for originality and plagiarism, followed by an editorial review where constructive feedback is provided within a specified timeframe.

Accepted manuscripts proceed to production, involving copyediting, typesetting, and the distribution of galley proofs to authors for final review. Following completion of these steps, the book is published both online (with assigned DOIs) and in print. Editors receive complimentary printed copies and an e-Certificate of Editing as acknowledgment of their contribution.

Throughout this process, the Advent Publishing team collaborates closely with the editor to ensure a smooth and timely publication aligned with the agreed schedule.

How long will I wait for a decision after submitting my editor proposal?

Typically, after submitting your editor proposal to Advent Publishing, you can expect a decision within a week. This timeframe allows the editorial team to thoroughly review the proposal, assess its fit with publishing objectives, and communicate with you regarding the outcome or any further requirements.

If you have not received feedback within this period, it is appropriate to follow up with the publishing team for a status update.

How do you invite contributors for the book?

Invitations for chapter contributions are sent via email and social media. We also encourage editors to leverage their own networks to reach suitable authors.

How are manuscripts assessed?

All submissions undergo originality checks and plagiarism screening. Manuscripts with a similarity index below 25%, in line with Advent Publishing’s policy, proceed to editorial review. Submissions exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision.

What is the Editorial Review process?

Manuscripts with a similarity index below 25% are forwarded to the editorial team for review. Editorial feedback on submitted manuscripts is typically provided within 10–15 days and is intended to offer constructive guidance to authors for enhancing their chapters.

How are authors notified about editorial decisions?

We communicate editorial decisions directly to the respective authors promptly upon completion of the review process.

Are there any fees involved?
